What is the energy of Beltane? 6 Invitations for Personal Growth at Beltane

Beltane Energy

The spirit and energy of Beltane is an honoring of life coming alive outside again! The winter months are finally behind us, the days are growing long, the air is warming. We are celebrating how good it feels to get outside again.

Colorful flowers are blooming all around, the new leaves are luminous, delicious scents waft through the air. Beltane is an observance of all this beautiful life. It’s a merriment of the pleasures we get to experience by being alive. It is a joyful, hopeful time.

Right now the Earth is bursting with rich, fertile energy – it’s nature’s Divine ability to reproduce & bring new things to life. Without it, life on Earth would cease to exist. Beltane is a rejoicing of this fertility inherent in everything in nature.

Everything in nature holds within it the power to bring new things to life (including you!) – Beltane is when we honor & celebrate that.

Here are 6 places to focus your energy during beltane for observance and personal Growth:

Focusing your energy in these places will help you connect with the supportive, natural energy available to you during Beltane. And, ultimately, help you grow as you move through this potent mid-spring season.

(Psst – If you’re looking to go even deeper in leveraging the manifestation power of Beltane, you’ll want my Beltane Seasonal Workbook. It has tons of rituals, meditations, soul-stirring reflections, tarot spreads and more!)

1. Reconnect with the Physical World

After a period of inward focus during winter, Beltane invites you to awaken & reconnect with the physical world. The outside world is vibrant this time of year. Nature is luring you outside. Take a walk! Go look at the rhododendrons blooming, smell the lilacs! Embrace your senses – essential for experiencing all the pleasures of life. This time of year it’s meaningful to get outside, connect with nature. Touch things. Sit on the grass.

2. Connect with your body

Your spirit is awake now, after your deep winter rest. During winter your energy was drawn inward – into the realm of spirit, deep into your mind. Here at mid-spring, you’re waking up, moving out of your inner world, and coming back into your body. This is a time for stretching & moving, reconnecting with the physical world. You have to be in your body to really connect with your senses & your sensuality. You need your human body, in order to really celebrate the pleasures of being alive.

3. Experience Pleasure

Right now, nature is reminding you of the pleasures you are able to experience in this life. The flowers, the colors, the smells – Beltane invites you to celebrate everything that brings you pleasure. At this time of year, every act of pleasure is a celebration of the life force within you. That is why your spirit chose this life, after all – to experience all the pleasures your Soul simply can’t experience without a human body to touch things & to feel things. This is the time to celebrate all the things you can do & feel in your human body.

4. Connect with your sensuality and your sexual nature

This is the time of year to honor the fertility in nature, and to honor your own sexual self. (Whatever that means for you.) Because you are a Creator. Not only of human life – but of everything in your world. Everything is a creation of yours, in some form of another. Being connected to this part of yourself helps your bring things into the world, it helps you create the things your Soul came here to birth.

5. Be creative

This season is an invitation to practice & rejoice in your inherent power to create. Your purpose on Earth is to create. You have the power to create whatever you want. An invitation at Beltane is to strengthen your ability to create, by being creative. It doesn’t matter what you create, just practice being in the flow of creating. Whether it’s art, a project, or a personal transformation, this fertile season of Beltane can strengthen your creative muscle, empowering you to bring your dreams to life.

6. Plant Seeds

This is the season when the growers get serious about planting seeds. This is the time of year to put the ideas, hopes, dreams, plans for the growing season ahead – into the dirt. What do you want to grow this year? What do you intend to grow? Out of all the things you’ve been thinking about, drawn toward, planning so far this year – which of those do you intend to grow? Which of those are you ready to invest time & energy into tending & bringing to life? Here’s one of my favorite planting Beltane Rituals!
