Beltane (May 1st) is an extremely powerful time of the year for setting new intentions.
On Beltane, the Earth is at its most fertile. Everything is blooming & growing, and life is thriving. This is the time of year when we begin planting in our gardens. Everything is coming to life, and the Earth is rich & ready to grow whatever we want to bring to harvest this year.
This rich, fertile atmosphere is perfect for planting your summer vegetables. And it’s also perfect for planting all the new hopes & dreams & plans & intentions you want to bring to life in the coming weeks & months.
This ritual is all about planting our intentions in the Earth, literally, so we can water them, and tend them, and watch them grow.
Before you do this ritual, spend some time reflecting on what it is you’d like to bring to life for yourself this season & into summer. (Many of my readers did this ritual with the New Moon last week to begin thinking about what intentions they want to plant.)
You can review that ritual or ask yourself these questions & spend some time journaling your answers:
What do you want to bring to life in the coming months? What do you want to grow? What do you hope to harvest?
Beltane Planting Intentions Ritual
Supplies Needed: sage, plant start or seeds
Additional Optional Supplies: pot, dirt
1. Sage Your Ritual Area, Plant & Supplies
Cleanse the area of your ritual with sage or palo santo wood. Make sure you also cleanse the pot you’ll be using for your plant, if you’re using one, and all your other ritual tools.
2. Ground & Center
Ground & center yourself. Take several deep breaths, and use whatever grounding method works best for you.
3. Call on the power of the Universe
Use these words, or whatever words feel comfortable to you:
I call upon the infinite power of the Universe. Please be with me as I plant these intentions for the coming months. Please give them power to grow so that I can harvest their rewards in the months ahead.
4. Read Your Intentions Out Loud
Read the intentions you wrote down out loud. As you read them, really feel what it will feel like when you have realized each of these things.
The power of your intentions lies in truly believing that you are already receiving all the things you hope to grow in your life.
5. Plant your Intentions in the Dirt
After you’ve read your intentions, fold each one & place it in the bottom of your pot. Or, if your planting your intentions in your garden, dig a hole and place the papers in your hole. Cover the paper with dirt.
6. Say a Prayer to the Universe
As you place your intentions in the dirt, say thank you to the Universe. Use these words, or whatever feels right to you:
Thank you, Universe, for hearing my prayers & for aligning to deliver each of these things to me. I am open to receive the blessings of the Universe.
7. Place your Seeds or Plant Start in the Dirt
Place your seeds in the dirt. Or, repot the plant/start you want to grow.
Water your new seeds/plant & repeat this sanskrit prayer:
“Om namo narayani”. (I surrender to the Divine Mother.)
8. Envision your Intentions Being Delivered to You
Close your eyes & take several deep breaths. Envision all that you have wished for being delivered to you.
Trust that the Universe is already aligning to deliver them to you. Really feel what it feels like to receive these things. Believe that they are already being delivered to you.
9. Thank the Universe
Thank the Universe for being with you in this Beltane ritual & for all the blessings your have in your life.
Tend your new seeds/plant daily. Water as necessary. Envision your intentions growing as you watch your plant grow.[/vc_column_text][thb_gap height=”25″][vc_column_text]
